Generally, it can also mount small chip shaped components, covering almost all component ranges, so it is called a multifunctional SMT machine. Today, let's talk about the basic features of a multifunctional SMT machine:
1、 The structure of functional SMT machines mostly adopts an arch structure, which has the characteristics of high accuracy and good flexibility.
2、 In X and Y positioning systems, full closed-loop servo motors are mostly used for driving, and linear grating encoders are used for direct position feedback to avoid errors caused by screw distortion and deformation. Some use dual electric motors and dual screw rods on both sides of the platform in the y-axis, and use a bilinear grating ruler for feedback, which can effectively reduce the waiting caused by the stationary mounting head and reduce the error caused by asynchronous deformation of the crossbeam. There are more advanced linear magnetic levitation motors, which not only have the technical characteristics of dual drive, but also have the advantages of direct driving, less mechanical structure wear, fast feedback, quietness, easy maintenance, and high accuracy.
3、 Most multi kinetic energy SMT machines use fixed circuit boards and use the movement of the mounting head to achieve X and y positioning, without causing large or heavy components to shift due to inertia due to the movement of the tabletop.
4、 Can accept all packaging methods for materials, such as tape, tube, box, and disc packaging. In addition, when there are many materials in the tray, a multi-layer dedicated tray feeder can be added.
5、 In addition to using traditional vacuum suction nozzles for material absorption, specialized suction nozzles can also be used for components that are difficult to absorb with special shapes. In addition, pneumatic grippers can be used for components that cannot be absorbed with vacuum suction nozzles.
6、 When calibrating components, an overhead camera is generally used, which has functions such as front light, side light, backlight, and online light, and can recognize various different components. If the size of the component is too large to exceed one view (FOV) of the camera, the upper view camera can also analyze and correct it through multiple views after taking photos. Some multifunctional SMT machines also have a mobile camera on the mounting head, which can identify various smaller components.
7、 In some products, some Pin h Paste components also need to be installed simultaneously with other SMD components and nurtured through reflow soldering. The insertion of such perforated insert components requires the machine to have the ability to install under high pressure. The mounting heads of some multifunctional SMT machines have the capability of high pressure mounting, and the mounting pressure can be controlled by a program, with a maximum of 5 kg.
8、 Some multifunctional SMT machines can be equipped with flux dipping assemblies, which can be used for component stacking packaging (Package on Package) and flip chip mounting.
9、 Some multifunctional SMT machines can also be equipped with a dispensing head for dispensing before installation, as well as soldering or underfilling of some components.
The multifunctional SMT machine can handle various complex components and is an essential equipment in the production of complex electronic products. In some research, testing, and trial production units, only one or more multi-functional SMT machines are used for small-scale production when they can accommodate the types of materials. However, the speed of multifunctional SMT machines in processing small chip shaped components is far from comparable to high-speed SMT machines. Some high-speed SMT machines can achieve a mounting speed of 5-10 times that of multifunctional machines when mounting small chip shaped components. Therefore, in medium to large-scale production, reasonable configurations are generally made based on the characteristics of the product, so that the efficiency of each equipment is close to the highest.
